Position objectives

This role will be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of online systems as well as the design, development and integration of new systems and platforms. In this role you will be working closely with members of the development team as well as members of the brand and content team and other internal stakeholders. You will deliver outcomes to meet business requirements while ensuring secure best practices and enterprise level industry standards are followed and maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Ongoing development and maintenance of AE website and online join form, including enhancements and troubleshooting.
• Design, develop, and test code according to release schedules to achieve high-quality solutions for core business objectives.
• Participate in code and security reviews.
• Contribute to and enhance technical documentation for design, development, and implementation of online systems and integrations.
• Assist in managing Azure tenancy hosting for online systems.
• Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in software development, secure coding, and cloud platforms.

Key competencies

• Experienced with C# programming using .NET framework and .NET core
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and OO principles
• Experience with Optimizely CMS or similar CMS
• Skilled in ASP.Net MVC, RESTful web services, and API integration
• Proficient in SQL
• Familiar with Microsoft Visual Studio, IIS, SSMS
• Ability to analyse issues via log files and stack traces
• Experience with Azure and cloud platforms
• Understanding of CI/CD and version control systems
• Experience with Atlassian suite: JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket
• Understanding of product management, agile principles, development methodologies
• Security-focused, passionate about high-quality software solutions

Experience & qualifications

• 5 years’ experience working in a similar backend development role
• Demonstrated track record of working on a website, variety of systems and platforms including maintenance, integrations, change and enhancements
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across an organisation to gather requirements, generate appropriate and effective technical solutions and implement them
• Financial Services or highly regulated industry experience will be well regarded
• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications and Certifications
