Autism Allies Inc. is Hiring a HR Assistant Near Shrewsbury, MA

Job Overview:

The Human Resources Assistant will support the daily functions of the HR department including assisting with hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding qualified candidates while ensuring a timely and respectful communication process.
  • Maintain project management and tracking tools for HR workflows and tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations by collecting and verifying I-9 forms.
  • Assist with organizing and scheduling new hire training sessions, including provision of refreshments for in-person trainings.
  • Serve as backup to the HR Generalist to deliver the HR portion of new hire orientation to acquaint employees with organizational norms and policies.
  • Accurately enter employee data and assist in managing HR information systems.
  • Assist in managing employee benefits, including enrollment, renewal, termination, and part-time employee eligibility.
  • Assist with overseeing the collection of performance reviews and following-up on associated wage increases as applicable.
  • Assist with staff scheduling as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date employee files and records.
  • Assist with posting updates and engaging with the community on company social media platforms.
  • Assist in company initiatives to foster a positive work culture.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments as needed.
  • Assist in representing the company at job fairs and other recruitment events to attract top talent.
  • Assist with responding to and managing unemployment claims in coordination with applicable state agencies.
  • Assist with ensuring labor law compliance by keeping mandatory postings current in each company center.
  • Assist in planning and organizing staff events.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in an HR role is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems, preferably ADP.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
