We are hiring Body Shop for at our Portland Oregon location. Monday through Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM with opportunity of daily and weekend overtime!

Summary of Position:

To repair and/or replace damaged metal panels on vehicles.

To refinish vehicles into new condition.

Job Requirements:

  • 12th grade reading and writing skills.
  • Two years' experience in auto painting.
  • ICAR Certification or equivalent.
  • Journeyman or equivalent.

Preferred Experience:

  • One year experience in welding.

List of Responsibilities:

  1. Read and understand VIN numbers, repair orders, purchase orders, purge sheets, and other documents to complete work.
  2. Able to determine frame or major structural damage on vehicles.
  3. Prep vehicles.
  4. Order parts as designated.
  5. Repair work as specified on damage repair order.
  6. Replaces parts on vehicles when unable to save.
  7. Using hand tools and experience to determine if vehicle damage can be repaired or needs replacing.
  8. May need to manufacture tools to use in course of day.
  9. Using sheet metal skills works out dents and scratches out of vehicles.
  10. Welding new sheet metal.
  11. Reloads or stages new vehicle inside Body shop for daily painting.
  12. Prepares vehicles for painting and then paints them.
  13. Purchases/orders paint supplies.
  14. Apply paint, including blending.
  15. Color match and mix paints.
  16. Sands vehicles using wet and dry sanding techniques.
  17. Ensure painting is done in a safe manner in accordance with company, state, and federal safety guidelines.
  18. Meet or exceed established production and quality standards.
  19. Follow all safety guidelines and attend safety meetings.
  20. Perform job in a safe manner.
  21. Upkeep and maintenance of work area.
  22. Daily clean up.
  23. Masks units.
  24. Unmasks units the next day to inspect for quality and then drives unit outside.
  25. Visually verifies that vehicle is damage free.
  26. Log processed work into computer program or tracking system as required.
  27. Understand policies, including but not limited to company safety policies.
  28. Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  29. Keep Leads, Managers and others informed of significant issues.
  30. Notify supervisor of any workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
  31. Participate in facility safety efforts by attending monthly safety meetings, report accidents and injuries on appropriate forms, and communicates the procedure to all appropriate customers/vendors and AWC personnel.
  32. Work as part of a team and assist others.
  33. Work with administrative staff on warranty/marine.
  34. Work with limited supervision.
  35. Other duties as assigned.
