Sr. DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities:

• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for automated builds, testing, and deployment of Java applications across development, staging, and production environments.
• System and Library Updates: Stay current with system updates, security patches, and library versions, and coordinate their implementation across all environments. Develop and execute upgrade plans in collaboration with developers and IT teams
• Bash Scripting and Linux Expertise: Develop and maintain bash scripts for automation of routine tasks, deployment processes, and system configurations. Leverage scripting to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with development teams to understand application requirements, provide infrastructure support, and troubleshoot issues. Collaborate with IT teams to align infrastructure changes with organizational policies and standards
• Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance, detect anomalies, and proactively identify and resolve issues. Configure alerting mechanisms to notify relevant stakeholders of critical events
• Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices for infrastructure and application components, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting procedures. Share knowledge and expertise with team members through documentation, training sessions, and collaborative discussions

Qualifications:
Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience in a Software DevOps environment
• 3 years of experience with Java and JavaScript development and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins or similar for CI/CD pipeline automation
• Proficiency in bash scripting for automation tasks
• Solid understanding of Linux beyond normal end-user, including command-line operations and shell scripting
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Preferred:

• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Jenkins Certified Engineer)
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Knowledge of networking concepts and security principles
• Previous experience in a similar role with a focus on Java application infrastructure
