Summary

APCO is growing and we are looking for a team of Product Managers to help continue to support our sales teams with new and innovative products that resonate with our business client base. Our new Product Manager Role will be responsible for all aspects of managing a line of business from conception throughout the product lifecycle, with ROI accountability. The line of business Product Manager creates and delivers an operating plan that achieves growth objectives by envisioning and bringing to the market innovative, profitable, products quickly and efficiently. SME level knowledge about the F&I Administration business is key, with deep experience working with the products APCO administers is a must-have. The right person for this integral role is a subject matter expert excited about autonomous responsibility to manage the line, and comfortable working with people and teams at all levels of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive responsibility for managing one of the following lines of business, with back-up accountability for others: Vehicle Service Contracts (including Limited Warranties), Vehicle Protection Products (including chemical application products with associated warranties), Gap Waivers, F& I Ancillary Products.
  • Manage the assigned product line of business from concept to design, including development of new and refreshed products. 
  • Work with sales teams to ensure the proposed product meets the needs of the sales team.
  • Coordinate with actuarial and risk on pricing, fee structure, underwriting guidelines, terms, exclusions, and profit share initiatives.
  • Draft consumer agreements that are easy to read and understand, free of typos or grammatical errors, and consistent in language and verbiage throughout.
  • Develop and maintain SME-level knowledge of competitive landscape, prepare competitor comparison overview for sales and executive teams.
  • Responsible for developing preliminary concepts and presenting same to the executive team and pilot dealerships
  • Forecast and sustain required ROI, develop and manage required profitability of each product.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, risk, underwriting, compliance, marketing, sales, legal, and the executive team. 
  • Mange product replacement cycle with all teams.
  • Some travel may be required.

Education and Experience

  • Essential: Product or Compliance experience working with one or more F&I Products: Vehicle Service Contracts (including Limited Warranties), Vehicle Protection Products (including chemical application products with associated warranties), Gap Waivers, F& I Ancillary Products.
  • Essential: Robust verbal communication skills with experience drafting product forms.
  • Essential: Uncompromising attention to detail.
  • Essential: Comfortable working with and presenting to executive teams.
  • Essential: Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects at the same time.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred: Formal or informal project management experience.

Skills

  • Must be able to navigate Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Word, Internet Explorer, Adobe and CRM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work as a team member and communicate to staff at all levels
  • Must be organized and able to constantly prioritize and handle a multitude of tasks under pressure
  • High attention to detail necessary.
