Job Title: Electrical Controls Engineer Department: Engineering Reports To: Senior Controls Engineer Job Summary: Provide control solutions for Autotec Machine Systems developed to solve customers’ challenges/problems. Analytical/critical thinking in applying robust design methodologies and sound engineering principles to develop and realize solutions. We supply turnkey systems featuring Finishing Systems, Pick & Place Robotics, Depalletizers, Palletizers, Labeling, Pallet & Slipsheet Handling, Case & Carton Handling, Conveyors, and Sortation Systems. Duties and Responsibilities:
Works closely with Senior Controls Engineer.
Responsible for preparing engineering to include:
System design
PLC programming
HMI programming
Control panel design and detail
Hardware selection
Bill of materials creation
Responsible for system I/O check, debug and startup at Autotec.
Responsible for leading and participating in problem solving activities.
Interact with other departments, suppliers and customers to obtain pertinent information.
Works closely with senior mechanical setup technician to ensure that the machine functionality is complete and approved at Autotec before shipping.
Coordinates, documents, and files all history associated with a specific job.
Reviews project quote and scope and calls attention to ideas and concepts.
Perform sales and engineering visits when required.
Creates costing estimate spread sheets when required to assist sales.
Reviews engineering to make certain Autotec and customer machine expectations are met
Assistance on the shop floor at Autotec as well as in the field service will be required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
BS in Electrical Engineering.
3 – 5 years of applicable experience
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Organize and facilitate team meetings.
Understanding of Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Allen Bradley Controllogix, and Allen Bradley Panel View software.
Strong computer skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently and must be able to interface directly with other engineers.
Familiarity with other commercial and industrial control systems.
