We are seeking a Junior Buyer, an entry level position, to support various supply chain management processes and procedures. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the position will manage information within an ERP system, concerning activity related to production schedules and material sourcing activity. Under the guidance of a Senior Buyer, the position will have the responsibility for learning best practices in material sourcing, with responsibility for completing purchasing requirements in support of overall production demands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage information within the ERP system concerning the supply of purchased items, in support of meeting customer demand requirements.
• Daily responsibilities include activities such as order placement, order acknowledgements, quantity and price verification, request for quotations, delivery date management, resolving invoice discrepancies, shipment errors, and supplier returns.
• Maintain current information for supplier lead-times, pricing, and contact information.
• Proactively communicate with team members, as it pertains to open orders and customer demand fulfillment, coordinating various responsible parties throughout the order fulfillment cycle for alignment in support of execution.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal customers and managers, relating to supplier issues and commitment dates, which may impact on time delivery.
• Collaborates with Suppliers and/or internal customers to negotiate and resolve delivery requirements, material shortages, inventory levels or quality issues. Takes action to expedite backordered, past due, and/or out of stock materials as necessary. Monitors all outstanding actions with assigned suppliers.
• Manage, analyze, and execute new demand forecasts and update based on actual sales, usage, trends, new product launch projections, and revised sales plans, to support demand planning and forecasting systems, tools and reports used in developing operational forecast and demand plans for use in Sales and Operational Planning.
• Strives to eliminate inefficiencies and improve workflows to meet customer fulfillment targets.
• Needs to be able to develop, manipulate, and share spreadsheets for purposes of analysis. Personal computer skills including the MS Office programs and the ability to apply these skills to essential duties and responsibilities is required.

• Must be self-directed and motivated, with the ability to organize and prioritize work
• Prior experience in distribution or production environment preferred. Understanding supply chain concepts is a plus
• Team player with a strong work ethic
• Creative thinker and problem solver
  Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
