Our client, one of the largest global providers of logistics in the beverage sector, consumer goods, clothing, machinery and petroleum products, has an immediate opening for an Ocean Export Coordinator/ in their Jamaica, NY, office.

• Handle all aspects of export operations, from A - Z, including arranging bookings with transport providers and ocean/air carriers, filing required documents, and providing full customer service for each shipment. Primarily working with Ocean Carriers.
• Process export documentation in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance to our procedures and country requirements, exercising personal judgment and discretion.
• Always utilize discretion and personal judgment to ship goods using the most efficient and cost-effective route to increase margin on each shipment. 
• Manage engaging vendors and suppliers, and work with procurement team on Ocean cargo needs 
• Authority to negotiate rates and make decisions pertaining to shipping vendors. 
• Ensure product compliance, operating efficiency, with a specific focus on productivity, quality and profitability. 
• Oversee pick up on behalf of the client/ agent as required. 
• Responsible for accurate completion of airway bills. 
• Manage invoicing and collection of freight, agency and disbursements from clients. 
• Minimum 4 years of Ocean export experience. 
• Minimum 4 years of freight forwarding experience. 
• Working knowledge of EdiTrade/SAP/Microsoft Suite Programs is a plus 
• Excellent communication & customer service skills. 
• Accurate and detail oriented. 
• Work well under pressure and ability to multitask. 
• Able to work in a team environment and independently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The days/ hours are Mon. - Fri., 8:30 - 5 pm, on-site
