Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Manager to join our team. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our hospital, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care. The Registered Nurse Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our nursing staff, implementing policies and procedures, and fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

Duties:

- Provide leadership and management to the nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and high-quality patient care.
- Conduct daily rounds to assess patient needs, ensure that medical orders are being followed, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures related to nursing practice and patient care.
- Coordinate and direct the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care, ensuring that all patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify and address gaps in patient care.
- Utilize clinical expertise to perform venipuncture, catheterization, and other invasive procedures as needed.
- Conduct physical examinations and assist with specimen collection and processing as required.
- Demonstrate expertise in ICD-9 coding and utilization review, ensuring that all patient records are accurately coded and managed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients in a Level I Trauma Center.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, as well as relevant nursing standards.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMRs) such as Epic to document patient care and manage patient records.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the hospital's nursing education program.
- Mentor and educate new nursing staff, ensuring that they are adequately prepared to provide high-quality patient care.
- Manage and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting.
- Experience as a nurse manager or in a leadership role.
- Certification in nursing management or a related field.
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 coding and utilization review.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients as needed.
