Avantic Medical Lab is seeking an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, API, CGMP, OSHA, and FDA regulations. This role is responsible for managing laboratory personnel, ensuring accurate and efficient testing, maintaining quality control standards, and optimizing laboratory processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics & Genetics, Toxicology, Endocrinology and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and will play a key role in maintaining a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations & Regulatory Compliance
- Supervise daily laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, API, CGMP, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment while enforcing adherence to best practices and company policies.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure continuous compliance with regulatory requirements and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Keep updated with changes in laboratory regulations and implement necessary adjustments to laboratory practices.
- Ensure the laboratory is prepared for regulatory and accreditation inspections, including maintaining proper documentation and protocols.
Staff Supervision & Training
- Recruit, train, and manage laboratory personnel, including scientists, technicians, and support staff.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow and optimize laboratory performance.
- Provide regular performance evaluations, mentorship, and opportunities for professional development.
- Conduct training programs to ensure staff proficiency in laboratory protocols, safety procedures, and compliance regulations.
Quality Control & Data Management
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, precision, and reliability of all laboratory tests and experiments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot discrepancies, deviations, and technical issues in testing procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test results, research findings, and quality control procedures.
- Oversee laboratory data integrity and security, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Manage Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to streamline data collection, reporting, and record-keeping.
Equipment & Inventory Management
- Oversee proper maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Schedule and coordinate necessary repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Manage laboratory inventory by monitoring supply levels, ordering reagents and materials, and ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
Research & Development
- Work closely with researchers, scientists, and clinical teams to enhance laboratory techniques and optimize testing protocols.
- Stay informed on advancements in molecular biology, clinical diagnostics, and laboratory methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in or lead laboratory-based research projects to support clinical trials and scientific discoveries.
Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Train staff on laboratory safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
Budget & Resource Management
- Manage the laboratory budget, including expenses related to equipment, supplies, and staffing.
- Optimize resource allocation and laboratory workflow to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with leadership to identify and implement process improvements that reduce costs without compromising quality or compliance.
Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between laboratory staff, management, and external regulatory agencies.
- Communicate laboratory procedures, results, and findings effectively to stakeholders, researchers, and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with other departments and external partners to facilitate seamless laboratory operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
- An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) is preferred.
Experience
- Proven experience in laboratory management, including expertise in regulatory compliance with CLIA, CAP, API, CGMP, and OSHA.
- Extensive knowledge of molecular biology techniques, clinical trial processes, and laboratory quality assurance standards.
- Experience in handling Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and data-driven laboratory processes.

Pay: $83,586.00 - $89,002.00 per year
