Avantor is Hiring a Specialist- Lab Support (US) Near Cambridge, MA
The Opportunity:Under moderate supervision, provide direct benchtop services support at customer facilities. Execute routine laboratory support procedures and preparations (e.g. media/buffer prep, solvent/reagent mixtures, filtrations, material weighing, some physical testing, witness senior staff experiments). Maintain lab inventory and labeling (e.g. chemical reagents, glassware, gas cylinder levels). Verification/maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g. balances, pH meters, sonicator cleaning, glass washing).
Location: Cambridge, MA
Schedule: 1st Shift/ M-F 7am - 3:30pm or 7:30am - 4pm
Hourly Rate: $28hr

- Education: Highschool diploma and or GED required, associates degree or BA/BS Degree in Science field preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years equivalent experience including college degree, basic knowledge of a lab environment and excellent time management skills, and expereince in pipetting.
- Collaboration Tool: Knowledge of Information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
- Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety, security clearances and medical checkups.
- Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills; display a professional can do attitude
- High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and multi-task oriented
- Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs minimum
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

- Assist with calibration, trouble shooting, and validation of lab equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
