Essential Duties and Responsibilities for RN Supervisor:

• Manages, evaluates, and directs the day-to-day functions of all nursing staff on the respective shift
• Ensures established nursing objectives and standards are maintained.
• Makes rounds and ensures that all resident services are coordinated with nursing services.
• Coordinates, assesses, plans, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for a specific group of patients/residents on a designated unit (sub-acute or dementia care) on a shift basis.
• Provides leadership and direction for the delivery of nursing care by nursing department shift on assigned shift.
• Assumes responsibilities of nurses, as required.
• Follows and enforces strict adherence to safety and infection control rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Serves as a mentor and role model and represents the Company in a manner that conveys professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, personal comfort, and privacy of others.
• Performs and/or actively participates in special research assignments, performance improvement processes, and special projects, as required or as assigned. May serve as a member or participant on various internal and external committees.
• Performs all tasks and duties in an efficient and safe manner.
• Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

Qualifications for RN Supervisor:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required
• Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Pennsylvania
• Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care
• Must have a positive attitude towards the elderly
• Ability to communicate with residents, families, physicians, consultants, and the public
• Ability to communicate with, understand, and instruct personnel
• Must speak and understand English
