About the opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Director to join our team and drive our growth on the East Coast. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and developing strategies to drive growth in the region. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong Sales skills, excellent communication abilities, proactive, agile and able to navigate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a proven track record in business development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy for the East Coast region.
  • Identify, target, and secure new clients through various channels including networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to foster long-term business growth.
  • Lead the creation of compelling proposals and presentations to win new business.
  • Actively engage in direct sales activities, including meeting clients, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
  • Work closely with the marketing, product, and sales teams to align business development efforts with company goals.
  • Set, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of business development initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably in IT Services or IT Staffing industries.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies and strong understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscape.
  • Hands-on and willing to be on the sales front line, meeting clients and closing deals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

It considers a wide range of factors such as internal equity, geographic location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, business or organizational needs and others. At Avenue Code it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for US Based Business Development Director is $150.000 USD to $200.000 USD per year.
