About the Role
The Avenues Athletics Department is a group of committed coaches who develop, plan and implement our growing sports curriculum. We pride ourselves in creating programs within each sport discipline, where Middle and Upper School coaches work closely together to ensure we cover the necessary skills and fulfill the needs of our student athletes.
The role of an Avenues coach is to instruct our student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary to realize individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must provide a foundation for integrity, pride of accomplishment, sportsmanship, self-discipline, goal setting, teamwork and self-confidence.

Positions Available
Fall 7/8 Volleyball: September 4th through October 31st
Fall Junior Varsity volleyball: August 26th through October 31st
Fall Varsity Volleyball: August 19th through November 4th
Practice and Game Schedule
Practices are 1.5 hours and games are up to 2 hours, not including travel time. Varsity roles meet 4x a week and Middle School 3x a week. On game days, athletes sometimes leave between 2:15 pm - 3:00 pm so candidates should be available at this time to travel to away games with the team. Home games are either 4:15pm or 5:30/5:45pm
The practice schedule is as consistent as it can be for each team. They are 1.5 hours and can be any of these four different times slots:
Salary
Please note that this is a part time and seasonal position averaging 6-10 hours a week. Coach pay rates range from $2,400.00-$3,000.00 depending on coach level (assistant vs. head) and experience. You must be eligible to work in the United States and will be living in New York or surrounding area during the season.
