Job SummaryThe Nurse Educator is accountable for the clinical program or area of nursing practice. Advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical expertise in a focus area, evidence-based practice, collaboration, consultation, education, mentoring, and change leadership. These are essential to advance the practice of front line workers including CNA’s, Med Aides, Nurses and other designated healthcare providers. The specialized knowledge and skills are used within three major areas of focus: resident/family, frontline employees, and the organization. The Nurse Educator and the Nurse Leadership are partners in leading the nursing clinical practice area. The Nurse Educator is accountable for collaborating with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost-effective, evidence-based care strategies. The Nurse Educator is responsible for maintaining current professional knowledge and competencies and contributing to the advancement of the practice of the frontline nursing staff including CNA’s, Medication Aides, and Nurses. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. Clinical or educational focus preferred. 1-2 years of experience preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration Must have current RN licensure in the state of SD or “multi-state privilege” to practice in SD if residing in a compact state outside of SD required. BLS Certification required. Work Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, every 10th weekend, occasional holiday, on call every 10th weekend; 80 hours every 2 weeks Pay The hourly range for this position is listed below.
