- The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is accountable for duties related to patient care under the direct guidance of the Child Assessment Center Coordinator (Registered Nurse/ Certified Nurse Practitioner).
- They are responsible for observing children during evaluations of alleged child sexual abuse, child physical abuse, drug endangerment, and witness to violence.
- This includes observation of the comprehensive physical examination. The PCT is also responsible for clerical duties.
- High school graduate or GED is preferred.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) registry preferred but not required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) completed within 6 months of start date is required and must be maintained.
- 0-6 months of experience is preferred.
- Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within one year of employment is required.
- Certification requirements to be maintained while working in department.
- Requirement: Clearance from the SD Department of Social Services’ Division of Child Protection Services’ search of the Central Registry for Abuse and Neglect; being listed on this registry prohibits a person from employment. Failure to submit to abuse and neglect screening disqualifies an applicant from employment.
- Varied shifts as needed; PRN
- $17.50 - $23.00 per hour
