Revenue and Business Intelligence Manager

The impact you’d drive:

This position will be fundamental in supporting the team’s overall goals of executing revenue optimization strategies designed to identify and drive performance across the organization; using data analytics to evaluate net cost of sale and profitability by distribution channel, segment, and customer type. Strong analytical and data-mining skills as well as creative thinking will be critical in identifying, developing and communicating actionable recommendations to support incremental and profitable revenue growth. This position will require strong communication skills to influence and garner support for new strategies that may conflict with the current operating business environment. The nature of the work is often cross-functional and requires someone who is a self-starter, resourceful and tenacious. This individual will also develop reporting and dashboards to support and monitor the progress of ongoing initiatives.

What you’ll do:

• Provide leadership to the revenue forecast and business planning process by enhancing, designing, and evaluating analytical approaches and insights
• Develop and deploy intermediate to advanced analytic methodologies and financial documents that provide impactful insights and recommendations for new and existing business opportunities
• Monitoring industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats. Gather market intelligence and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions that positively impact revenue and profit targets
• Collect, analyze, and interpret internal revenue-related metrics to gain insights into sales performance, customer trends, and revenue growth
• Lead recurring executive revenue reporting, including but not limited to monthly business review and key performance indicators across sales, marketing, and revenue management
• Develop, train, and mentor the commercial finance team
• Provide support in testing, launching, and enhancing new and existing analytics tools as required

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have formal supervision responsibilities.

Responsibility/Scope/Impact

• Level ll works independently on most routine tasks to prepare, research, and summarize more complex financial and economic data. This position may be accountable for interpreting business results. Level II has a minimum of 5 years of financial analysis experience.
• Level Ill works independently and may provide guidance to other analysts, and also prepare, research, and summarize the most complex financial and economic data. This position is required to interpret and analyze business results. Level Ill has a minimum of 7 years of financial analysis experience.

Qualifications (may vary by level)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related field required
• Minimum of 5 years business experience required
• Finance, revenue management, and business analytics experience required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Solid interpersonal skills with an ability to contribute positively in a team environment
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of financial and economic calculations, reporting, and valuation methodologies
• Working understanding of computer application tools to perform financial calculations. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams
• Ability to draw meaningful and actionable conclusions from large datasets
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Must be resourceful, with an ability to network and collaborate with cross-departmental key stakeholders
• Proficiency with quantitative languages and tools including SQL
• Familiarity with advanced analytics tools such as Tableau or comparable BI software
