Market Access Specialist 

AVITA Medical® is a regenerative medicine company leading the development and commercialization of devices and autologous cellular therapies for skin restoration. Our FDA-approved RECELL® System technology platform treats patients with thermal burn wounds and full-thickness skin defects and is used for re-pigmentation of stable depigmented vitiligo lesions by harnessing the regenerative properties of a patient’s own skin to create Spray-On Skin™ cells.

Position Summary:  

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Health Economics and Market Access team at Avita Medical. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting strategies to ensure global patient access to our innovative medical products. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Market Access team’s efforts to achieve favorable coverage policies for AVITA medical devices in the U.S.
  • Support Market Access strategies to enhance global patient access in key international markets, with a particular focus on Europe.
  • Participate in strategic Market Access projects, as needed.
  • Support the development of Market Access strategies to enhance patient access to AVITA Medical’s products in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Develop materials to demonstrate product value including economic models, value dossiers, and slide presentations. 
  • Monitor and analyze payer activities and trends, including coverage, coding, and payment policies affecting AVITA Medical’s products in the U.S. and in key international markets.
  • Communicate coverage policy changes that impact the immediate and future adoption of AVITA Medical devices and procedures.
  • Provide appropriate support in educating sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and legal teams in other global offices to increase awareness and understanding of health economics and reimbursement competencies.
  • Support effective and rapid communication with payers and HTA (in the U.S. and abroad) regarding the value of our products.
  • Support the development of HTA submissions by leveraging key evidence and internal resources.
  • Create health economics and reimbursement materials to assist with internal and external customer education.

Requirements

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with proven ability to collaborate across functional teams.
  • Knowledge of U.S. public and private payer policy infrastructure, payment methodologies, coding and coverage, and health policy trends impacting the medical device sector.
  • Proficient in outpatient and inpatient coding systems (APC, MS-DRG, ICD-10) and physician coding (CPT, HCPCS), with a focus on Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer processes.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of detailed planning and execution with minimal supervision.
  • Independent and proactive, able to contribute both individually and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in MedTech, Healthcare, Public Health and/or Reimbursement.
  • Previous experience in, or strong working knowledge of, the medical device industry; clinical trial knowledge or experience is preferred and a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Public Policy, Health Economics, Business, Science, or Healthcare Administration); master’s degree preferred.
