Avo Multi-amp Corporation is Hiring a Production Assembler I Near Phoenixville, PA

Summary Statement:

The Production Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure that customers instruments are assembled properly and that product quality standards are met. Using a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment perform a series of operations to correctly assemble/test Megger test equipment. These tasks may include but are not limited to: inspecting, repairing, testing, and calibrating assemblies and finished instruments to meet manufacturers specifications, electronic circuit troubleshooting, adjustments, performing upgrades, inventory, Engineering Projects (Proto-Type/Class Builds) and modifications via approved deviation (as required).

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Technical Responsibilities:

  • Good oral and written communication skills are required.

  • Must be able to coach and, or train lesser skilled co-workers.
  • Must be able to interact and contribute in a small team environment.
    Problem-solving skills:
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem solving abilities are essential.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
    Minimum Skill Sets and Competencies:
  • High School Diploma required. Associate degree or other applicable technical degree recommended but not required.
  • One to three years work experience with product assembly/sub-assembly of complex electronic products.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent soldering skills and knowledge of soldering techniques are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to read/understand product design schematics, assembly documentation, and component datasheets, BOMs.
  • Experience and understanding of product assembly methods and fundamentals.

Additional Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiar with the use of PCs and PC software applications.
  • Observe good housekeeping and safety procedures, keep equipment, tools, and work area clean and orderly.
  • Experience working safely with Low/High Voltages
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
