Job Description

Avōq is seeking a senior client counselor to manage a group of high-profile clients. Responsibilities include account planning, project management and execution, and financial management. Working with the Executive Vice President, the Director will help set and achieve client goals, serve as the strategic liaison between the client and agency teams, and manage and oversee agency work on behalf of clients.

  • This person will work as part of the client leadership team to support a portfolio of priority clients, including leading trade associations, non-profit organizations and corporations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

Relationship Management: Actively advances client work to achieve client objectives. Builds client trust by proactively communicating and developing positive, productive relationships.

  • Uses strategic understanding of clients’ businesses, target markets and competition to support account planning and guide internal teams.
  • Understands marketing and communication strategy for each client, and executes marketing and communications plans.
  • Surfaces new trends for discussion with other account leaders, and has a vision for how new trends can create value for clients and the agency.

Account Management: Manages project and campaign execution, including the development and implementation of advertising, strategic communications, content development and digital strategies.

  • Builds strong internal relationships that produce outstanding work.
  • Ensures client goals and objectives are communicated to appropriate agency departments via briefs, kick-off meetings and other regular check-ins.
  • Mentors Account and Project Management team members.
  • Guides the agency team in actively resolving client-related concerns.
  • Develops presentation materials, including client materials, such as decks and agendas.
  • Manages vendor relationships.

Business Success: Closely monitors and manages the financial health of multiple accounts.

  • Raises concerns and solutions about the financial status of accounts to senior leadership when appropriate.
  • Ensures work quality and adherence to deadlines and budgets.
  • Creates mutually beneficial agency/client relationships.
  • Identifies opportunities to maintain and grow accounts.

Requirements

As a qualified candidate, you have experience in:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising or Communications; Master’s degree a plus.
  • 7 years of communications, marketing or advocacy communications experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic communications, advertising, marketing, digital strategy, business and financial principles.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects efficiently.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding analytical capabilities to define measurable objectives, assess campaign metrics and reports.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills.
  • Works well in a collaborative team environment.

The salary range for this role is $120,00 - $165,000
