As a Power Distribution Project Manager, you will have direct and daily contact with our customers and suppliers. You will be tasked with managing projects and fostering relationships that will help grow our business. Success is measured by meeting sales and resource development objectives while working towards exceeding customer requirements and expectations. You will be working closely with the Power Distribution Manager, Technical Account Managers, and Application Engineers as you grow and apply your skills, knowledge, and abilities. The successful candidate must be innovative, passionate, and resourceful while demonstrating technical skills.
How you'll make an impact:
  • Work in conjunction with Technical Account Managers and Application Engineers to review power distribution project specifications (both technically and commercially), compile and submit project proposals utilizing AWC's products and resources to meet the customer's specifications and ensure that all project requirements and milestones are met throughout the order cycle
  • Maintain a knowledge base on current Smart Power System technologies and methodologies, and understand how AWC can leverage our internal automation competencies to help improve our customer's experience when interfacing with their power distribution equipment
  • Provide field presence when necessary to oversee Factory Acceptance Tests as well as field startup and commissioning efforts being performed by sub-contractors and/or AWC Application Engineers
  • Develop and maintain strong professional and interpersonal relationships with immediate customers. Develop an understanding of the customers' operations and their project goals to aid in successful application of our products
  • Understand and manage the quotation and order processes. Understand special applications, how to address them, and where to source the appropriate products for a given application
  • Ensure project success through follow-up and lessons-learned on proposals, equipment orders, project schedules, document transmittals, customer change management, material shipments, and life-cycle product support
  • Help develop and improve internal processes to maintain project records for easy storage and retrieval of project related documents and associated information

Skills you'll need:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering OR
    • Industrial Technology/Distribution Degree with three years of experience interacting with engineered power distribution products (design, purchasing, selling, maintaining, etc.)
  • Knowledge of: Project management practices & procedures; Smart Power Systems; Electric power distribution products, listed above, and their application in the industrial environment; Pricing strategies; Distribution channels; Technology trends & emerging technologies.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate accurately and effectively. Must be able to effectively interface with a variety of technical as well as project management teams
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Office/Teams tools to analyze and solve routine problems
