Job Description:

  • Receive, label, test and evaluate finished products, resins, dispersions, intermediates and materials used on site in support of site operating areas
  • Execute laboratory testing according to area operating procedures and test methods, make observations and interpret findings, i.e. Adhere to spray/application procedures for intermediates and finished products, including isocyanates
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility to produce electronic and written test records, i.e. use/learn software applied in the lab, such as SAP and TIPs or written test card
  • Adhere to work instructions and apply test methods to ensure the reliability and repeatability of the procedure to ensure product evaluations represent the true product quality.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and transparent records; provide records to our internal and external customers as well as government agencies if needed
  • Follow verbal or written work instruction
  • Calculate adjustments for batches requiring minor adjustments as prescribed in work instructions
  • Maintain various lab equipment, i.e. Semi-automated spray equipment, spray booth and oven rooms as required
  • Assist in ordering laboratory supplies
  • Participate and support Preventative Maintenance and Calibration of sensitive laboratory equipment used to analyze samples
  • Maintain an environment that is neat and orderly to comply with 5S housekeeping standards
  • Adherence to site lab safety practices and national lab safety engineering standards
  • Work with R&D Chemists/Technicians to address batch quality issues or participating in customer visits/audits
  • Ability to work autonomously and handle multiple high priority tasks critical to meeting customer demand.
  • Strong problem solving, data management and analysis skills
  • Self-directed, independent, and capable of multi-tasking and adapting to a variety of situations
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently learn new software and procedures
  • Confidently provide results to operations team members, chemists and site management team
  • Build relationships internally and externally to the QA Lab
  • Knowledgeable in current policy and practice trends
  • Know how to get things done through formal and informal network
  • Understand the origin and reasoning behind key policies, practices and procedures
  • Able to stand and walk for 2/3 of the shift
  • Lift 25- 30 lbs.

  • Kneel or crouch

Education & Experience:

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 1-year related Laboratory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
