EVCS is Hiring a Project Manager Near Los Angeles, CA

Position Summary

The Project Manager Special Projects is responsible for managing the successful execution of EVCS projects, managing projects from concept, through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, while meeting project requirements within the contracted scope, schedule, and budget constraints.

The ideal candidate for the role will be knowledgeable of Project Management methodologies, an excellent communicator, a collaborative, problem solver, and action-oriented leader with exceptional business acumen and the ability to translate business challenges into actionable solutions in a highly complex, rapidly evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from origination to commissioning and close out, consistent with EVCS’s values and guidelines with respect to safety, quality, and business ethics.
  • Responsible for managing project’s scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, stakeholder and customer communication, risks, and procurement to meet project requirements.
  • Lead a diverse team of designers, technicians, construction personnel, contractors, consultants, among others, and assign tasks setting and communicating clear expectations.
  • Create and analyze financial information such as budgets, cost expenditures, and milestone forecasting against project schedule to enable overall project financial health.
  • Manage and control costs by (1) timely and effectively planning and reviewing cost expenditures against project activity, (2) negotiating price & costs with vendors, (3) optimizing resource allocations and timing of activity, (4) performing risk assessments to forecast potential costs impacts and mitigating these events.
  • Create and manage the project schedule and key milestones working closely with design, construction, finance, funding, and other stakeholders.
  • Create and manage the project cost expenditure forecast based on the project schedule and when the costs will incur.
  • Create and manage the project milestone payment forecast based on the project schedule, the funding program, and when key milestones can be invoiced.
  • Manage and timely update key project information in project software.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation, ensuring key documents are captured and stored throughout the project life.
  • Facilitate work across the project team, develop a project schedule, lead meetings to facilitate requirements gathering, plan and track progress, manage and mitigate project risks, troubleshoot problems as they arise, and develop solutions to barriers and challenges to success to deliver projects on time, within budget and scope, and with a keen focus on effective and consistent communication.
  • Recommend sequences for actions, procurement and purchases and coordinates necessary meetings to ensure the timely delivery of products and services.
  • Support the company’s objectives of continuous improvement by reviewing, incorporating, and contributing to lessons learned, and suggesting changes to process and procedure to improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of project execution.
  • Act as a single point of contact with the stakeholder, consistently communicating project progress, facilitating the resolution of issues, and following up on Deliverables.
  • Lead project meetings, presentations with stakeholders, internal reviews, and meetings with vendors.
  • Monitor change orders and negotiations on additional work.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added at company’s discretion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Related Experience
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience as a project manager in construction, energy, or technology.
  • Knowledge of construction, project management best practices, and financial acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with customer representatives.
  • Ability to support and facilitate technical reviews of various documentation and other project deliverables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Strong skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Must be an exceptional communicator and collaborator
