Job Title : Training & Instructional Designer Location : Plano, TX (Hybrid) Remote option, travel onsite for face-to-face meetings Desciption: The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive training strategy to meet the program needs. This includes designing and delivering training curricula, creating instructional materials, and facilitating both in-person and virtual training sessions. The role involves managing training resources, incorporating various content elements, and tracking training effectiveness to ensure the successful delivery of the global transformational program. Remote Locations Option:
Travel onsite for face-to-face meetings as needed.
Key Roles And Responsibilities Training Strategy and Planning:
Develop a training strategy and plan that aligns with program and market needs.
Continuously assess and adjust the training approach based on evolving market demands.
Training Needs Assessment
Conduct needs assessments to identify learning objectives and training requirements.
Analyze target audience characteristics and learning needs.
Curriculum And Content Development
Create training curricula for users and leaders, including planning the approach, forums, and delivery methods.
Develop instructional materials, including storyboards, scripts, manuals, e-learning modules, and multimedia resources.
Integrate system content (e.g., navigation steps, screenshots), process instructions, and people-oriented content (e.g., behavioral changes) into training materials.
Utilize e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) to create interactive and engaging online courses.
Incorporate multimedia elements such as audio, video, and graphics to enhance learning experiences.
Ensure compatibility with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other delivery platforms.
Collaboration And Validation
Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather content, validate information, and ensure the accuracy of instructional materials.
Develop and implement evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness of instructional materials.
SharePoint And Resource Management
Create and maintain the programs SharePoint site.
Upload training content to accessible and centralized locations (e.g., SharePoint, LMS).
Learning Forum Preparation
Schedule and prepare for various learning forums, including in-person classrooms, virtual sessions, e-learning time blocks, labs, and office hours.
Manage logistics for in-person forums, including room reservations, Zoom/AV coordination, and room setup.
Train The Trainer (TTT)
Schedule and conduct Train the Trainer sessions to upskill business trainers.
Clarify trainer responsibilities for content ownership in each training session.
Prepare materials, provide facilitation tips, and conduct dry rehearsals as needed.
Training Delivery
Facilitate training sessions to business audiences, adapting delivery methods to enhance engagement and comprehension.
Promote the use of consistent training methods and tools across all training activities.
Support additional activities required to deliver the Market Program on time, within budget, and with the expected value.
Tracking And Evaluation
Design assessment tools that align with instructional goals.
Track training delivery metrics and evaluate training effectiveness.
Analyze feedback and performance data to refine and improve learning solutions.
Qualifications
Education: Degree in Training and Development, Instructional Design, or a related field.
Experience: 7 years of experience in training design, development, and delivery.
Proficiency:
Creating training materials and using e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
MS Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SharePoint.
Skills:
Strong understanding of instructional design models and adult learning principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple training projects and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in training, instructional design, or related areas are a plus.
