We’re looking for a passionate server-side developer with experience in and, more importantly, a passion for data ingest. This includes the analysis, processing, manipulation, and storage of all things data. The ideal candidate will have a skill for tough puzzles, the talent for communicating complex ideas simply, and a drive to deliver high quality software to our users. We are offering a position with a growing "Data Lake" that houses TBs of data with a continually increasing corpus and variety of data sources. Responsibilities will include:
- Team participation (Agile)
- Development and testing tasks under schedule constraints
- Product delivery from concept to production Skills Desired:
- Server-side Java code, including JDK and Scala
- Data Storage platforms - relational databases, ElasticSearch, Databricks
- High-throughput and parallel coding with distributed databases and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Accumulo, Hadoop, MapReduce) Bonus skills:
- Web service and integration expereince
- Amazon Web Services
- Python Work is 50% onsite with no travel in the Huntsville, Alabama area with the rest will be telework. The team is distributed between Washington, DC metropolitan area and Huntsville. Competitive benefits and compensation.
