Axient is currently seeking an experienced candidate with established industry and government relationships in the agencies/markets listed below to join our team as Vice President of Strategic Growth, National Capital Region.

What you will do...

While working collaboratively with the CGO, the Growth Organization and Axient Operations Leadership Group this teammember will lead the formulation of strategic growth including business development strategies, document account and opportunity plans, and execute opportunities within government agencies. Will be expected to develop and execute a pipeline that will significantly enhance and exceed Axient’s current NCR footprint with the exact growth targets to be developed within the first 90 days.

  • Work closely with the CGO and senior leadership to create data-driven growth strategies that meet both long-term and short-term goals by analyzing key metrics (ROIs, conversion rates, internal feedback, etc.) and industry trends.
  • Lead opportunity strategic planning and positioning, teaming interactions and coordination with full support from a corporate infrastructure that includes capture support, proposal development, and technical subject matter expertise covering a broad range of portfolio capabilities.
  • Manage, lead and be hands-on (tactical) for opportunities pipeline, inclusive of the following activities: business development, customer network, opportunity identification, qualification, gate reviews, capture, proposal support, teaming, and client management.
  • Execute Opportunity Strategy and Business Development activities, including market assessment, opportunity identification, qualification, and maturation, to assist the company in determining pursuit decisions.
  • Lead throughout the market and competitive assessment, qualification, capture, and proposal processes to include all aspects of developing Axient’s win strategy.
  • Create, update, and execute strategic Account Plans to proactively target and grow revenue within assigned Accounts.
  • Identify strategies and implement tactics to create new contracts while owning capture activities within assigned accounts/opportunities.
  • As a senior-level position, this individual must manage a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities in various stages of maturity.
  • Promote the complete portfolio of services from company capabilities to the target client base.
  • Market analysis and strategic business planning, including identification, qualification, and marketing aspects of a complete capture that will lead to the award of prime programs.

Skills you will need...

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

  • 25 years of relevant Business Development and Strategic Growth experience in Federal Contracting to include recent and successful experience in performing in a senior business development role required (developing customer relationships, account strategies, qualified pipelines, industry relationships).
  • Bachelor's degree with the above relevant experience preferred.
  • Successful track record of double-digit profitable revenue growth.
  • Experience with various contract types, including cost plus fixed fee, fixed price, award fee, and performance-based contracting, are required.
  • A demonstrated sustained ability and reputation of winning advanced, defense and civilian mission systems contract awards form aerospace to cyberspace.
  • Evidence of trusted partnerships with Government stakeholders is required.
  • Ability to identify and qualify select opportunities and initiate call plans 18-24 months ahead to shape outcomes.
  • Extensive experience building and working within high-performing teams in a matrix-management environment.
  • Experience and knowledge in relevant customer domains and product areas.
  • Management experience including development of strategy for growth, transformation, or change.
  • Candidates must have highly effective interpersonal skills to interact daily with technical leaders and business executives within the company, with customers, teammates, and subcontractors.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
