Sarasota, FL has an opening for a Project Architect to become part of a talented team of design professionals working on a variety of projects in the public and private sector markets. We are looking for a motivated and thoughtful individual who is seeking a team that will grow with them and collaborate together in the successful delivery of our services. This position requires 5 or more years of experience in commercial architecture. The candidate should be a licensed Florida architect or able to obtain Florida licensure within one year of hire. competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. Performs work requiring independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Independently solves problems encountered. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex issues and supervisory approval on proposed project plans. Candidate may work on multiple small and/or moderate size or portions of major projects within a larger project team.

Project Delivery Competencies:

  • Design Software Literacy: Proficient in Revit Architecture, and other design practice-oriented software
  • Technical Detailing: Broad knowledge of architectural principles and products, and proven ability to apply and detail them into a project’s construction documents.
  • Scheduling: Ability to execute work within an allotted time frame
  • Design process: Understanding of the necessary stages of the design delivery process appropriate for a particular project
  • Specifications: Technical knowledge of procedural and product attributes ad ability to prepare project specifications.
  • Project Team: Ability to function effectively within multi-disciplinary teams. Know how to work with project teams and information flow to assure efficient work sequence for project participants
  • Construction Administration: Knowledge and ability to perform the design professionals’ obligations during construction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from a NAAB accredited architectural program
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in commercial design and construction
  • Licensed to practice architecture in the State of Florida or ability to obtain licensure within one (1) year of hire

Travel Possibilities

  • Job site travel as needed per project. Majority of travel will be local. Occasional overnight travel may be required from time to time
  • Meetings with clients, jurisdictional agencies, community groups, consultants, product reps
