What We Manufacture And SellAxiota's non-antibiotic solutions prepare cattle for times of transition and stress and support producers' goals of optimal health, performance, and animal well-being.
Our current cattle product platforms are injectable trace minerals and native rumen microbes produced through anaerobic fermentation. Axiota is the combination of two proven companies joining forces to serve the cattle industry.
Trace minerals are important for reproduction, immunity, and immune response to vaccines. MULTIMIN® USA is an innovator in sure trace mineral supply by timed injection and offers the proprietary injectable trace mineral solution MULTIMIN® 90, an injectable, aqueous supplemental source of zinc, copper, selenium, and manganese.
Rumen health and development are critical for growth and performance. MS Biotec® is a pioneer in anaerobic fermentation and rumen health. Our signature line of Lactipro® brand products deliver a patented strain of Megasphaera elsdenii, a potent lactic acid utilizer.
Role & Responsibilities
  • The associate scientist position primarily works in our R&D laboratory and coordinates the adoption of these innovations into our production processes.
  • General microbiological duties including glassware, instrument, and media preparation in accordance with standard procedures and under sterile/anaerobic conditions.
  • Perform experiments according to protocol given and following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Identify potential out of specification measurement/result obtained during an experiment, inform supervisor, and make appropriate adjustment.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date and concise laboratory records of current experiments, results, media prep documentation, etc.
  • Capable of producing necessary records for audit trail of current and past R&D experiments.
  • Participate in maintaining the R&D laboratory. General housekeeping/upkeep of laboratory material and glassware.
  • Participate in the development of experimental design for R&D when needed.
  • Participate in data processing and analysis (enter data in excel and create summary tables/charts).
  • Assist implementation of R&D technologies into the production process.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, or equivalent life science.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
