Assist the Group Financial Planning & Analysts team with preparation of deliverables related to financial statement and expense analysis
Serve as the trusted Finance Business Partner to Corporate Function heads by providing expense details, tracking key metrics and helping to prepare analyses in support of strategic business decisions (e.g., vendor management metrics, office space, etc. analyses)
Own the planning and forecasting process for several Corporate Functions from end to end, by working with executive management team to deliver detailed expense budgets
Prepare expense variance analyses for plan vs. actual results, where you will determine drivers of variances for monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc information requests. Group expenses into different categories for analysis purposes
Assist with maintaining and updating corporate financial model (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) in Excel and Anaplan system including the quarterly import of actual results
Build/maintain quarterly financial statements and metrics for earnings preparation
Prepare expense & headcount data for uploads into financial systems
Manage monthly expense accruals for the Corporate Functions
Provide regular quarterly and monthly reporting on various firm initiatives such as the Philanthropy and Recruitment Fee spend
Liaise with accounts payable to optimize expense coding and improve the monthly expense close process
Interest in learning Anaplan financial planning tool and building out financial models
Deliverables & projects are not limited to those mentioned above which would include ad-hoc reporting and analysis as business requires
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or related disciplines
Minimum 5 years of experience in reporting, analysis and finance systems
(Re)insurance industry knowledge and understanding of key performance indicators is a plus
Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with Anaplan, Hyperion and a strong ability to learn new financial systems is an advantage
Knowledge of financial statements and GAAP accounting
Strong attention to detail and strong analytical, problem solving, oral & written communication skills
Highly motivated, confident, inquisitive, and adaptable
Comfortability with ambiguity
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple requests/deliverables under short deadlines
Business partnering experience is a plus, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of management
For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $105K - 120K. The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
