Overview
The IT Delivery job is accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, programs, and portfolios. The job leads projects, programs, portfolios, or Agile ART or several agile teams through the systems development life cycle from planning through hyper care, working in close partnership with IT and business leaders, including executive sponsors. The work also includes leading, collaborating, coaching team members, and influencing others outside their direct team to ensure the success of initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coaching and Guidance:
Provide coaching and guidance to team members.
Project Management:
Create and maintain project budgets.
Build strong project teams.
Manage and organize project teams to support project needs.
Manage projects to successfully meet business requirements and outcomes.
Planning and Testing:
Plan and run test plans.
Create work breakdown structures to support project delivery and track plan.
Use level of efforts to assist in developing project budgets.
Manage project progress and create effective status reports.
Manage all required project documentation per SGWS PMO standards.
Define, drive test metrics and monitor testing to ensure testing is completed per project schedule.
Define resource plan and manage throughout project life cycle.
Time Management:
Define activities.
Sequence activities.
Estimate the duration of activities.
Develop and maintain a schedule.
Collaboration:
Highly collaborative with team members and stakeholders.
Responsible for mentorship of junior team members.
Risk and Budget Management:
Manage budgets and risks effectively.
Proven experience in managing impediments that exceed the self-organizing capabilities of SGWS teams.
Agile Practices:
Experience in participating in sprint planning, design, coding, unit testing, and sprint reviews.
Demonstrates ability to recognize healthy team conflicts and promotes constructive disagreement.
Competent with Scrumban, XP, Kanban, Lean, and other Agile frameworks.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree
5 years leading system development or relevant IT work experience
Experience managing small to medium projects across multiple functions is preferred
Capability to understand SGWS application portfolio and daily business operations
Proven record of keeping leadership actively informed and cascading decisions made quickly
Experience developing new ideas and proposing innovative solutions to problems
Proven experience using multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations
Demonstrates ability to provide candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner
Preferred Qualifications
Master s Degree
Project Management (PMI) or Agile Certification
Specialized Skills and Technologies
Experience in managing large and complex technical projects
Understanding of fundamentals of IT Architecture & Systems to deliver solutions
Experience in integrating multiple systems (logic and data) across the enterprise
Functional knowledge and experience in implementing large and complex solutions related to software, data, or infrastructure projects
