POSITION SUMMARYA Teacher creates a plan of instruction and a class environment that is favorable to learning and personal growth; establishes effective rapport with pupils; motivates pupils to develop skills, positive attitudes and knowledge; and establishes good relationships with parents and other staff members.RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDirector of LearningBeverly Public Schools is seeking a full time special education teacher to Support students in developing proficiency across academic, social and behavioral areas within our district severe needs program at the elementary level.Candidate must have experience with developing IEP's and writing clear, concise, measurable IEP goals with aligned benchmarks/objectives. Candidate must have the ability to collect student data, analyze data and accurately report academic, social and behavioral progression on progress reports and within Team Meetings. This position further requires training and knowledge in working with students on the autism spectrum, including, but not limited to ABA, Discrete Trial, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Writing Behavior Plans. The candidate will be required to effectively communicate and collaborate with all staff to support the social/emotional/behavioral/academic needs of the students within the program and ensure implementation of accommodations and/or modifications across the school setting, including successful integration into the general education classrooms. Candidate must have a working knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework (CCSS) for Math, ELA and Literacy, including establishing entry points for students. Candidate must also effectively communicate with parents and outside agency providers. Candidate will have experience with evaluation tools for use in initial special education determinations and three-year reevaluations.
