Job Description:

As a Medical Assistant at AZ Weight Loss Clinic, you will play a crucial role in supporting our healthcare team in delivering exceptional patient care. You will assist in both clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations and a positive patient experience. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Clinical Duties:

• Greeting and preparing patients for their appointments, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
• Taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information.
• Assisting healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and surgeries, including bariatric surgeries.
• Providing patient education on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions and dietary guidelines.
• Performing basic laboratory tests and procedures, such as blood draws and specimen collection.
• Administering medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.

Administrative Duties:

• Scheduling patient appointments and surgeries, coordinating with other healthcare facilities as needed.
• Managing patient records and ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Handling phone calls, inquiries, and requests from patients, ensuring prompt and courteous responses.
• Assisting with insurance verification and billing processes, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)
• Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting, especially in bariatric surgery or weight management, is advantageous.
• Proficiency in basic medical terminology and clinical procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
