Description:

Provide pre-sales technical consultations and post-sales technical support to academic researchers, pharmaceutical companies and KOLs for designing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and genomics projects. Communicate project requirements, workflow updates and deadlines to customers and internal operations teams. Assist Marketing with Azenta positioning, communication strategies, webpage design and promotions. Attend vendor shows and conferences, visit current and prospective customers; and present technical webinars to promote NGS business. Perform research and development activities involving cloning, fermentation, protein expression and purification during Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) projects. Use standard molecular biology techniques such as RNA isolation, cDNA library construction, library amplification, genomic DNA isolation, random shotgun cloning, and polymerase chain reaction. Assist with transcription profiling using array-based technologies such as probe generation and hybridization. Use sequence analysis tools and library normalization and subtraction protocols as well as RNA isolation. Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) projects. Train Sales and Marketing personnel; and Project Managers on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and services. Position can be located anywhere in the United States. Up to 50% travel within the U.S.

Salary range: $130,792.92 - $147,685.44 per year

Requirements:

Master’s degree required in Genetics, Bioinformatics or a closely related field, and three years of experience providing technical consultation for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) products and services.

Experience, which may be gained concurrently, to include each of the following:

• 3 years of experience applying knowledge of wet or dry lab workflows for variety of genomics applications in life sciences.
• 3 years of experience developing relationships with academic researchers and clients to understand experimental needs and recommend solutions that accomplish their scientific goals.
• 2 years of experience organizing and presenting technical seminars/webinars to assist with product marketing and outreach.
• 3 years of experience troubleshooting scientific research experiments and molecular biology workflows.
• 2 years of experience reporting constructive customer feedback to and working with Product Management, R&D, and Marketing teams with product launches and customer support.
• 2 years of experience using Salesforce.com or similar LIMS for customer relationship management.
• 1 year of experience training sales, new hires, and collaborating groups on NGS applications.
• 1 year of experience preparing quotes and technical proposals for RFQ and RFI submissions (industry, academic, government).
