Job Descriptions of Medical Assistants:
1-The MA should be proficient in drawing blood, taking vital signs, performing pulmonary function tests (PFT), ankle-brachial index (ABI) tests, electrocardiograms (EKG), and sleep study assessments.
2-Schedule and confirm patient appointments
3-Answer phone calls and manage correspondence.
4-Order and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
5-Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system:
- Document patient information accurately, including vital signs, medical histories, and test results.
6-Coordination and Collaboration:
- Work closely with healthcare providers, including NPs, physicians, and other medical staff, to provide comprehensive patient care.
7-Adhere to all medical and ethical standards, including HIPAA regulations.
8-Flexibility and Adaptability.
- Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare providers or supervisors.
9-Reference from previous employment.
