Job Overview:
The B Cellars line cook position is a unique opportunity to learn not only about cooking new ingredients and preparations, but how to pair them with a variety of different wines. This position does require guest interaction, multi-tasking, and teamwork.
General Requirements:
● 3 years cooking experience, including experience as a line chef or restaurant cook
● Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
● Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
● Basic written and verbal communication skills
● Organizational skills
● Ability to work as a team member
● Follows directions and instructions
● Must be able to lift 50 pounds
● Must be able to work long hours on their feet
● Work weekends, nights, and holidays
● Working outdoors in garden
● Must wear masks and gloves or any other PPE deemed appropriate by B Cellars
● Temperature logged daily and confidentiality
Responsibilities and Duties:
● Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
● Prepare ingredients then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes
● Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range
● Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
● Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
● Maintain cleanliness and must comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage
● Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of every shift
● Perform additional tasks as assigned by Sous chef or chef de cuisine
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
