Job Summary:B T Group is currently seeking a Telecom Project Engineer. This person is responsible for performing engineering calculations and producing designs, drawings, inspections, and reports.
Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):
- Perform engineering calculations to determine structural sufficiency of telecommunications infrastructure, buildings, and other various structures. Retrofit towers and their foundations if deemed necessary.
- Produce various drawings, designs and/or reports concerning engineering evaluation, inspection, and opinion of various structures.
- Create and modify tools to aid and accelerate the engineering analysis process.
- Work with clients regarding technical specifications, project options and alternatives, field issues and project revisions.
- Collaborate with Drafters and Project Coordinators on drawing specifications and project details.
- Participate in meetings of a technical nature, including client deliverable updates, industry analyses, design standards and training updates.
- Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
- Technical Knowledge – Proven knowledge of various structural materials, including steel and concrete.
- Time Management – Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Communication Skills – Proven oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide technical information by phone or email in a professional manner.
- Customer Service – Adept at assisting and solving problems for customers with a sense of urgency.
- Computer Skills – Proficiency in the use of structural analysis tools, drafting, spreadsheet, email, database, word processing, and presentation software (e.g., tnxTower, AutoCAD, RISA 3D, MS Office).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering with a Structural focus from an accredited university.
- Telecom experience preferred.
