About this role: The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed. Within EFT we are seeking a Technology Director to lead and transform the Enterprise Functions Technology Platform & Application Support function for our critical Corporate Risk and Internal Audit application portfolio. This portfolio includes complex solutions and ecosystems, delivering time critical functionality for our business’. The successful candidate will be accountable for overall Application Availability and Service Management, remediate known gaps, and have responsibility for resolving abstract, systemic and cross-functional issues that impact the effectiveness of the enterprise’s technology capability. In this role, you will: Manage a global team of technical engineers in pursuit of operational excellence Platform engineering across EFT applications for greater effectiveness and efficiency Strategic and urgent execution of identified initiatives and vulnerability remediation Incident first response for the application portfolio, from high severity issues to lower severity issues Change and deployment game plan development and execution Lead operational best practices design, with a focus on consistent practices across all EFT applications Strong partnership with Technology Operations governance teams, for metrics and trending analysis, root cause and preventative action plans Manage a global team of engineers, providing 24x7 operational support Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers Interface with Risk and Control partners, and Internal Audit Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy Required Qualifications: 8 years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 4 years of Management experience 8 years of software engineering experience 8 years of experience Technology Operations, supporting enterprise level complex applications and platforms in Production 5 years of experience performing engineering and support tasks on Linux/Unix and Windows Servers 5 years of software development experience 4 years of experience with Cloud technologies 4 years of experience with database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Teradata and Postgres 4 years of experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C# and HTML 2 years of experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka Desired Qualifications: A Masters degree or higher in computer science or engineering Cloud certification on Azure, Google Cloud Platform or similar platform Experience with configuration and monitoring technologies such as Ansible, Grafana, Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership Experience in providing thought-leadership, expertise to formulate and execute on major strategies to develop/deliver robust and scalable solutions Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure Ability to develop and execute business vision, strategies, and goals Ability to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment Experience with design, implementation and governance with Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning Architecture Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), DevOps concepts, and Site Reliability Engineering principles Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces Job Expectations: Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening This position offers a hybrid work schedule This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship Pay Range $207,900.00 - $431,900.00 Benefits Wells Fargo provides all eligible full- and part-time employees with a comprehensive set of benefits designed to protect their physical and financial health and to help them make the most of their financial future.
