About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Independent Testing Officer in Independent Testing & Validation (IT&V) as part of Corporate Risk. The Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) team is responsible for the development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities across the Enterprise in alignment with the Risk Management Framework, and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies. The Senior Lead Independent Testing Officer will act as the delegate for the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Testing Leader, actively participating in management routines with CRE executives in the front line and Risk. Will manage large CRE testing engagements. Provide direction and coaching to CRE testing staff. They will be responsible for providing appropriate commentary for all CRE related executive reporting produced by IT&V both scheduled and ad-hoc. Assisting with the overall schedule management for the CRE portfolio of testing engagements. Schedule management activities include holistic status tracking, understanding obstacles faced by the testing team, and helping to remove those barriers and find solutions. In this role, you will: Develop and design methodologies and standards for review activities across the enterprise in alignment with Risk Management Framework. Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies. Identify potential corrective actions, reporting, escalation, and resolution. Perform low to moderate risk quality reviews. Raise schedule delays to the review activity lead with proposed resolution plans. Lead implementation of complex initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple business lines. Lead high risk or complex review activity engagements in a matrixed environment, and communicate emerging risks to management. Create schedules for control reviews and consults on scheduling and capacity planning across the team. Assess, document, and communicate trends on emerging risks, themes, and identified issues. Partner with internal business and other business units, audit, legal, regulators, and industry partners on risk related topics. Lead project or virtual teams. Required Qualifications: 7 years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. Desired Qualifications: Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, technologies, and internal controls; and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations. Big Four/super regional public accounting firm with experience in business process, regulatory, or compliance audits and/or business process, regulatory, or advisory/consulting service. Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with various levels of management including senior executive level leaders. Ability to drive and lead organizational change, prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy and an ability to credibly challenge the status quo. Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability. Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationship with key partners and senior management. Articulate, poised and comfortable in direct interaction with senior lines of business partners, Compliance, Independent Risk Management, and Internal Audit. Demonstrated success with influencing business units to identify, formulate and implement processes/procedures to mitigate risk. Demonstrated negotiation skills, especially with difficult topics when partnering with lines of business. This includes the willingness and ability to question decisions, understand direction and escalate issues, where necessary. Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
