The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company. Wells Fargo Bank N.A. seeks a Senior Quantitative Analytics Specialist in Charlotte, NC. Job Role and Responsibility: Completing model validations independently, timely, and effectively under firm’s model risk management policies, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices. Reducing model risk to meet or exceed regulatory and industry standards with effective challenges to business models in the areas of developmental data, framework, assumptions, specification, and implementation. Identifying model weaknesses with keen understanding of industry best practices and tradeoffs between different approaches. Communicating model issues and limitations clearly and effectively to key stakeholders in both validation reports and model forums. Working with stakeholders to resolve validation findings and review mitigating controls over limitations. Contributing to the improvement of validation processes by developing and improving standards and procedures. Contributing to test automation and efficiency gain. Interfacing actively with senior management and key stakeholders on key modeling issues, weaknesses of the processes or procedures, and driving toward practical solutions. Engaging effectively with model developer with respect to model risk identification, risk monitoring and risk mitigation. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days a week. Position must appear in person to the location listed as the work address. Travel required: None Required Qualifications: Position requires a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, physics, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, or related technical field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a related quantitative analytics role. Alternatively, will accept a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, or related technical field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related quantitative analytics role. Specific skills required: Stochastic modeling experience; Financial derivatives pricing; Numerical methods: Monte Carlo simulation, Partial Differential Equations, Optimization; Stochastic calculus; Financial markets, and regulatory environment; Writing and communication: able to summarize complex concepts in front of diverse audience; Programming skills: Python, C or related.
