About this role: The Chief Technology Office (CTO) supports and delivers enterprise infrastructure and tech for tech services that enable Wells Fargo customers globally. CTO is undergoing a major transformation in the way we deliver services, including new cloud modeled data centers, new and modern development tools, adoption of a product operating model based on agile principles, and a customer-center frictionless delivery approach. The Director of CTO Vendor Optimization will play a critical role driving technology strategy and optimization across the technology vendor landscape. Two thirds of CTO’s expenses come through our vendors, and you will lead CTO executives in developing, executing and holding leaders accountable for reducing expenses and ensuring CTO provides best in class products and services at the most efficient rates. You will report directly to the CTO Chief Operations Officer and will partner closely with CTO Senior Leadership team. In this role, you will: Create and execute CTO vendor strategy (including vendor segmentation) to drive significant efficiencies. Analyze portfolio of annual vendor spend (across ~600 contracts) to identify where there are opportunities to optimize, outsource, streamline, conduct RFPs, consolidate vendors/tools, de-prioritize spend for retiring products and services. Drive aligned prioritization (and deprioritization) of vendor tools/services across CTO product managers Develop insights comparing industry benchmarks for infrastructure pricing to identify opportunities to improve internal pricing. Drive execution with CTO leaders directly and hold accountable to action plans. Coordinate and drive end-to-end vendor governance with Finance, Sourcing, and CTO teams. Define and execute overall CTO vendor strategy to drive significant efficiencies. Provide guidance, thought leadership, and hold accountable executives across CTO leadership team Required Qualifications: 8 years of Technology Business Services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 8 years of IT Vendor Management, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience 4 years of Management experience Desired Qualifications: 8 years of experience in financial services, with significant experience in technology/infrastructure vendor management and pricing Strong analytical and quantitative skills; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Ability and willingness to negotiate internally and externally Possess deep experience leading large-scale transformation efforts Track record of collaborating with other technology delivery channels and departments to deliver solutions effectively and efficiently Proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies aligned with business objectives by influencing and engaging across multiple cross functional teams Extensive experience in technology leadership roles demonstrating strong execution skills in a fast-paced environment using agile methodologies, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment Highly collaborative (with stakeholders at all levels) with strong influencing skills, creative, resourceful, self-driven and results oriented Transformation experience within large matrixed organizations and understanding of different approaches towards organizational design with knowledge of how to simplify the organization Must have strong executive presentation and relationship building skills.
