The Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist works as a liaison, managing Backhaul Direct's carrier payables and accounts receivable records. The Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist involves verifying, updating, and processing carrier payables, as well as securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts. Our ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail with the ability to be accurate and timely.

What will you do as an Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist?
- Record day-to-day financial transactions
- Audit proof of deliveries and other carrier provided paperwork for accuracy compared to customer requirements
- Proactively research customer requirements and billing details and ask for clarification when needed
- Track outstanding issues and consistently follow-up
- Communicate internally via email or phone to retrieve purchase order approvals, load tenders, and/or discuss billing issues from sales and operations
- Review and analyze all accessorial adding on the carrier side that may not have been added yet on the customer side of the transaction(s)
- Build relationships with key customers to ensure Backhaul Direct is paid timely and resolve any concerns or delays
- Review payments received for application to correct invoices and review invoices prior to distribution as needed
- Execute administrative tasks, including document uploading and retrieval
- Display top-notch customer service skills when dealing with external customers alongside internal team members
- Work on special accounting projects as needed
What skills and/or qualifications do you need to be successful as an Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist?
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Proven customer service and/or accounting-specific experience
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite and/or HubTrans is a preferred
- Experience within the transportation and logistics industry a plus
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
- Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Possess strong work ethics and desire for continuous improvement
- Strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion
