Backhaul Direct is looking for a weekend shift LogisticsOperations Coordinatorwho is an experienced customer service professional interested in working in our laid-back office environment located in Indianapolis. This position will be responsible for weekend coverage, managing our shipments, taking inbound calls from motor carriers, negotiating the best rate, and handling the brokering of the freight. What will you do as a Logistics Operations Coordinator?
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal team
Negotiate freight rates with carriers
Utilize our proprietary software, Grapevine TMS, to manage shipments
Coordinate drivers and equipment to cover loads efficiently
Update customer and account managers with issues
Manage daily shipments to ensure customer needs are met 24/7
Work quickly to identify and resolve problems that arise with a strong sense of urgency
Meet and maintain set expectations of inbound and outbound call volume per day
Manage daily shipments throughout entire cycle from dispatching to delivery
Sustain a positive attitude to communicate with team
What qualifications are needed to be a Logistics Operations Coordinator?
High school diploma or equivalency required
Previous experience in sales or customer service background preferred
Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment
Punctuality
Proficient computer skills
Exceptional verbal, written, and face-to-face communication skills
Detail-oriented and possess organizational skills
Team-oriented
Schedule is full time from Friday to Monday
