TITLE:  Senior Data Engineer 

LOCATION: Rochester, MN (Remote)

SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours/week, 5 days/week, and 8 hours/day.

PAY:  $55.00 - $70.00 Hour DOE

This is the pay range that BAHAMA Consulting reasonably expects to pay someone for this position.

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Overtime paid at 1.5X regular rate of pay)

SUMMARY: The Senior Data Engineer will fulfil an integral role in the Research Business Intelligence team, helping the team perform complex data modeling, implementing data management best practices, and contributing to the effective migration and implementation of data.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• The role will collaborate with Information Analysts and a Data Management Specialist to review existing data infrastructures and build out future frameworks to ensure excellent data quality and reporting.
• Implement data pipelines using best practices for ETL / ELT, data management, and data governance. 
• Analyze and process complex data sources in a fast-paced environment. Perform data modeling against large data sets for peak efficiency.
• Identify, design, and implement process improvement solutions that automate manual processes and leverage standard frameworks and methodologies. 
• Understand and incorporate data quality principles that ensure optimal reliability, impact, and user experience. 
• Create and document functional and technical specifications. 
• Drive exploration of new features, versions, and related technologies, and provide recommendations to enhance our offerings. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; OR equivalent 5 years of experience. (Required)
• 5 years of hands-on experience programming in SQL. (Required)
• 3 years of experience building and maintaining automated data pipelines and data assets using batch and/or streaming processes. (Required)
• Deep knowledge of databases. Cloud-based environments (e.g., Google Cloud). (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
• API familiarity.
• Business Intelligence tool familiarity (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
• Experience designing and implementing improvement solutions that automate manual data processes.
• Experience creating and documenting functional and technical specifications.
• Experience cleaning complex data pulls.
