Partner with the best

As the Refining / Petrochemical Area Manager in the Midwest US Region, you will directly and indirectly manage the service delivery of our our customers, in and build relationships with new customers in the Refining, Petrochemical and adjacent markets. You will be responsible for ensuring that Baker Hughes maximizes its short- and long-term revenue and profit opportunities while ensuring flawless execution, on-time delivery, contract adherence and cash collection. You will support the identification and development of new sales opportunities through an understanding of customers’ needs and requirements.

As Refining / Petrochemical Area Manager in Downstream Chemicals, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all activities carried out according to our non-negotiables & our cultural pillars.

  • Maintaining internal compliance and HSE standards to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Building long-term strategic relationships with customers to originate sales opportunities and develop strategies for business growth.

  • Collaborating with the sales operations team and utilizing an understanding of our client’s requirements to deliver new sales opportunities in the area.

  • Providing mentoring and development support to district team in the area to grow their skill sets and capabilities.

  • Managing and overseeing Downstream Chemical account operations in Midwest Region (Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky).


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree and demonstrable experience in refinery / petrochemical operations or sales or industrial process, water, finished fuels, engineering or service

  • Have or be able to obtain a TWIC card

  • Must have a clean driving record

  • Have experience with and ability to influence others

  • Demonstrate business acumen and ability to ensure product and value delivery for our customers

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to build trusting relationships with internal teams and external customers

  • Show the ability to lead and coordinate several projects simultaneously

  • Have an understanding of HSE standards, a clear understanding of the compliance and reporting requirements associated with the flawless execution of a Perfect HSE Day

  • Have experience with Profit and Loss statements along with an understanding of factors that influence key metrics to support company decision making in the area.
