Job DescriptionJob Title: Assembler
Department: Assembly
Reports To: Assembly Supervisor
Hours: 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday, Full Time, Permanent, Some OT Required
SummaryPerforms repetitive bench assembly operations to produce products such as pumps and other manufactured items by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following.
  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Tends machines, such as arbor presses, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
  • Operates electrical and hydraulic test equipment interpreting and recording results as to their correlation to product quality.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Reviews incoming returned materials for condition and suitability for repair or recondition. Performs repair work and reconditioning, preparing assemblies for return stock or return to customers.
  • Consults with Sales and Engineering personnel as to product revisions and customer requirements.
  • Maintains and records accurate count of workpieces produced and personal hourly attendance data.
  • Practices safe work habits, maintains workplace in good order, and wears issued personal protective equipment in the workplace.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION And/or WORK EXPERIENCEOne year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
COMPETENCE, AWARENESS AND TRAININGCompetence, awareness, and training for probationary employees will be assessed by the “New Employee Checklist,” and the evaluations conducted and 30, 60, and 90 days, along with other training as needed. Competence, awareness, and training for regular employees will be assessed when annual evaluations are conducted, along with other measurements in accordance with the area the employee is assigned to.
