ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
I AM MENtality Youth Male Empowerment Project is a registered non-profit organization based in Baltimore City. Our mission is to provide leadership development opportunities for male youth between the ages of 7 and 18. By utilizing mentorship as a medium, we aim to create positive change in Baltimore City.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Program Assistant to join our team. This part-time hybrid role involves providing administrative assistance, program management support, conducting research, and demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills. The Program Assistant will play a vital role in supporting our programs and ensuring effective operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative (60%)
Provide administrative support to ensure efficient program operations.
Serve as the liaison between I Am Mentality, schools, community organizations and families.
Sustain and grow partnerships
Guide programmatic policies and procedures
Assist in managing and coordinating program activities and events.
Conduct research and gather relevant information to support program development.
Recruit students for new programs and initiatives.
General Operations (40%)
Support grant tracking and reporting efforts.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively with team members, volunteers, and program participants.
Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
Work directly with male youth to provide guidance and support.
Support the development and implementation of communication materials, including reports,newsletters, and social media content.
Assist in maintaining organized records and documentation related to program activities.
Adapt to changing circumstances and provide flexible support as needed.
Required Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
Experience in program management and coordinating activities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong administrative assistance and organizational skills.
Ability to conduct research and gather relevant information.
Passion for working with youth and making a positive impact.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of experience in the non-profit sector is a plus.
Compensation:
This is a Hybrid part-time position (25 hours weekly) with an hourly rate of $24-26 per hour.
Monday through Friday, with occasional Tuesday evenings & Saturdays. (Hybrid role with remote work flexibility)
