    JOB TITLE: Resource Teacher, Behavior Management - (Dean of Students) Lansdowne High School
    REPORTS TO: Principal
    DEFINITION: Support the instructional and administrative leader of the school, assuming a major role in providing guidance, consultation, and professional development to staff in managing student behavior in positive ways so that student behavior and student achievement improve. Assist with attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.
    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of a school code of conduct and a school wide behavior management plan.
    • Assist staff with the development and implementation of individual student behavior management plans.
    • Survey staff to determine specific behavior management training needs.
    • Purchase and set up a discipline tracking programs to assist administrators and staff in tracking student behavior data
    • Serve as trainer in cooperative and positive behavior management for all staff.
    • Design and assist teachers and counselors in implementing strategies and learning activities to teach students social skills, self control, self discipline, and how to be totally responsible for their behaviors.
    • Assist counselors with the implementation of a student behavior modification program.
    • Provide ongoing intensive behavior management training and classroom support for teaching requesting and needing the support.
    • Assist the principal in supervising and evaluating the effectiveness of the implementation of the behavior management plan.
    • Assist in coordinating the behavior management program of the school in conjunction with the appropriate school and central office staff.
    • Communicate effectively with administrative and supervisory personnel, staff, students, parents, and community
    • Write reports relative to behavior data, etc.
    • Serve as a liaison in coordinating supportive services to help meet student and family needs.
    • Assist school administrators in monitoring and assessing student behavior data to determine the effectiveness of support services and training being provided for staff, students, and parents.
    • Assist school administrators with student attendance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education, Training and Experience:
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree; plus, five years of successful teaching experience, which included two years as a content leader, department chair, or demonstrated leadership experience at the school level.
    Licenses and Certificates:
    Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate is required
    Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
    Skill and experience with the school improvement process.
    Skill and experience in the use and analysis of school performance data.
    Skill and experience in the use of information and instructional technology.
    Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
    PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
    The work of this class is generally sedentary and performed in an office environment. Work includes the operation of office equipment, including personal computers, and occasional limited physical activities.

    Pre-Employment Requirements:
    • All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (per COMAR) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109.00. An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
    • Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
    • If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
    • Official transcripts for all higher education must be received prior to contract signing.
    • Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
    • All newly hired personnel must attend a Badges and Benefits session.
    • Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
