The Transformation team is focused on contemporizing today’s business processes with sustainable digital solutions, thus enabling strategic process transformation. This organization is responsible for partnering with our Digital Technology (DT) organization to drive internal transformation. This includes designing and deploying a broad set of business and manufacturing capabilities including new enterprise resource planning (ERP) and manufacturing operations management (MOM) solutions and associated integrations. This position is responsible for providing strategic data management leadership and stewardship of data related processes. The Data Management specialist will partner closely with the Enterprise Data Architect, Lean Leadership teams, business functional leaders, and digital technology teams to implement and drive improved data quality, data integrity, and data governance, putting in place data quality metrics, training programs, and creation of a centralized data management cross functional process. This includes implementation of data policies and best practices aimed at achieving the required level of consistency, accuracy, validity, and completeness of enterprise information, including deploying metrics and KPIs around business processes. You will ensure that data is managed and measured as an asset for ongoing success. In this role, you will lead engagement with functional data and process owners to map, classify, and manage data that will shape the overall Transformation strategy to meet stringent security requirements and operational objectives. Working with the DT data architect, you will support the creation of an enterprise data model that identifies data sources, data uses and classification levels to guide both architecture design, integration, and MBE strategies. The Leader of Enterprise Data Management will further develop and execute a strategy for measuring business performance against key business metrics. You will support the organization to execute evolving data management needs, including the development of the data analytics strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a Data Governance framework in coordination with data Governance team.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with cross functional business leaders, stakeholders, end users, and partners to integrate programs into overall strategic objectives aligned with data policies and processes.
  • Oversee and engage with data domain and data owners across multiple functions (Product Line, Digital, and Operations) for data tagging, establishing metrics, and approvals, promoting adoption of Governance process.
  • Develop and execute a strategy for measuring business performance metrics for data quality (completeness and accuracy).
  • Ensure data management process is effective to drive architecture, instance, integration, MBE and security requirements.
  • Connect and improve data flow down from contract initiation to shop, product line, and key stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Support mapping and design of process flows across functions and key users as necessary to support objectives.
  • Understand and evaluate business processes, enabling the successful translation of business needs into data requirements.
  • Participate in development of master data management strategies, implementation roadmaps and business cases.
  • Help establish and define important critical data elements, metadata rules for use, format, and lineage.
  • Support building and governing master data guidelines, data standards, and data dictionaries.
  • Lead implementation, and ongoing management of attribute naming conventions, industry/trade standardization, and categorizations.
  • Develop, deploy, and monitor policies and processes established for managing master data within source systems, automated and manual processes.
  • Promote Lean mindset as it pertains to the team’s operational effectiveness and opportunities to continuously improve the master process across the business
  • Mentor, coach and develop contract master data stewards and operations team members on data management best practices and information quality standards
  • Develop master data team member goals and measurement strategy that aligns team members' work to operational processes (SLA’s), data quality, and enterprise data management goals.
  • Drive business process change (simplification) by influencing cross functional departments
  • Lead with a hands-on approach – drive accountability to continuously improve enterprise standards, and grow the team's capability set from both depth and breadth perspective
  • Facilitate engagement with departments and leaders to train and educate the use and adoption of data management.
  • Improve trust in contract critical data elements by defining and improving data quality.
  • Effectively communicate and manage escalations to senior leadership.
  • Ensure conformance to all applicable, policies, and guidelines.

Qualifications we seek in you!

  • Minimum Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree, 5 years’ experience in business management, Master Data Management, Data Governance and/or Enterprise Data Management.
  • 5 years managing cross functional teams
  • Experience standing up or maintaining data governance program
  • Demonstrated lean / continuous improvement experience and mindset
  • Technology experience in data management, MDM, and data quality technologies
  • History working with large datasets, metadata management, and data models
  • Experience with business operations and B2B
  • Models’ humility, transparency, and focus.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Passionate about driving change and influence transformational change.
  • Experience directly managing individuals or managers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams to drive operationalizing contract data products
  • Hands-on experience in solving challenges for master data management, data quality problems or complex data integrations.
  • Key understanding of the importance of change management in the implementation of data and information management strategies.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working across multiple functions and with global resources
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large scale programs.
