Bank of the San Juans is Hiring a Loan Support Specialist Near Pueblo, CO

About the Role:

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for conducting the daily ongoing quality control functions.
    • Review of the Daily Critical Maintenance Report as instructed in the GBCI Loan File Maintenance SOX Control LN6a Procedure to identify employees creating maintenance changes and ensure the accuracy of data being input or changed within the Bank Operating System and ensure report is retained in Synergy in the Internal Cabinet under Document Type Critical Loan Maintenance
    • Review of the daily loan maintenance report as instructed in the GBCI Loan File Maintenance SOX Control LN6a Guide to identify employees creating maintenance changes and ensure the accuracy of data being input or changed within the Silverlake loan system.
    • Review the daily generated Loan Advance Report to insure an authorized person has initiated the Advance, validate and document findings on the report.
    • Review Daily Loan Payment Report for accuracy of payment postings and document findings. To include reaching out to Lenders for validation of posting if necessary.
    • Review of Daily Exception Reports submitted by GBCI to ensure data within the Loan System is accurate
    • Verify the input of data for all New Loans and Change in Terms by comparing the system entries to the signed Promissory Note or CIT Document as well as validating loan codes assigned by the Lender as part of GBCIs New Loan Report SOX Control LN2a.
    • Review disbursement entries relating to New Loans or CITs to ensure funds have been disbursed accurately and to the correct General Ledger Accounts.
    • Timely completion of the New Loan and Critical Maintenance logs to meet the GBCI SOX Control requirements.
    • Communicate on a daily basis with the Loan Operations Team to direct them and provide support and understanding to eliminate potential errors in the loan system that could affect the banks relationship with their customers.
  • Review of Commercial Adverse Action files dropped by Lender to ensure completeness of the file prior to the 2nd Review or Approval of the denial (in nCino) following the instruction and timing requirements set forth in the GBCI Adverse Action Guide. To include:
    • The completion of the Adverse Action Checklist
    • Communication with the Lender regarding missing data to complete the file and follow up to ensure file is complete.
    • Generation of the Adverse Action Notice verifying documentation on the notice is accurate.
    • Completing the 2nd Review or generating the Conversation Log in nCino
    • Providing Lender copy of the Notice being mailed and mailing out Notice to applicant.
  • Review and management of various daily / monthly GBCI reports along with other QC staff.
  • Work with Loan Support Supervisor in reviewing Compliance audits on Adverse Actions in order to address any issues.
  • Work closely with Loan Operations Manager to ensure all loan operations functions run smoothly.
  • Provide information presented through the Expert Emails to appropriate loan staff through written correspondence
  • Develop or assist in developing training materials for loan staff.
  • Employee must be capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Employee must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance

Additional Responsibilities

  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Controls
  • Adhere to Bank of the San Juans Company Core Values.
  • Keeps management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Participate in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of the Bank of the San Juans.
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service: must demonstrate self-governance, courtesy and respect toward external customers as well as internal customers (all organization personnel).
  • Complete required bank and BVS training courses within assigned time frame(s).
  • Represent Bank of the San Juans in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive can-do attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy. Attends and participates in meetings as required.

About You:

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • A two-year college degree at a business or trade school and/or equivalent combination of education and experience..

Required Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of loans and loan operations.

Experience Required:

  • Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Jack Henry Silverlake and Laser Pro Documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills even under strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
