Position Summary

We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Insurance Agent to join the American Home Insurance Agency, Inc. (AHI) team. This position encompasses sales, communication and administrative skills which are needed to sell and process insurance business primarily for customers of the Richmond American Homes companies (RAH).

This Insurance Agent opportunity is like none other in the industry! Richmond American Homes and every new home buyer is a potential AHI client. AHI will provide you with new leads every month. Its up to you to close the deal. Your role is to develop new relationships by demonstrating AHIs value as an independent agent and close the new home buyers Home and Auto business.

The sales activity requires prompt and effective verbal and written communication with potential clients, underwriters, peers and company personnel. These skills are also required to sell additional lines of insurance to current AHI clients and clients attained through AHIs prospecting and marketing activities.

The Insurance Agent needs to respond promptly to customer requests, provide expertise on insurance products and cultivate meaningful relationships that will lead to long-term client engagement and future purchases of AHI products. The person in this role will maintain an intense focus on ongoing insurance and sales education.

Responsibilities

  • Connect with potential clients, via phone and e-mail using RAH leads to sell insurance products.
  • Work with appointed insurance carriers to determine the best product offerings and pricing fit for each new opportunity to choose from.
  • Create insurance proposals for prospective clients and present coverage .
  • Close new home and auto policies for RAH homebuyers.

Job Functions in addition to insurance sales to RAH clients :

  • Round out all accounts - Auto, Umbrella, Life, etc.
  • Process all business sold in a timely manner:
    • This includes: completing all documentation requirements to submit and issue business with appointed carriers; producing evidence of insurance (EOI) certificates, entering production into the vision system on deadline; providing required documentation as requested by management team.
  • Focus on obtaining ongoing insurance education, knowledge and experience and maintaining required licenses.
  • Support and participate in AHI marketing/prospecting activities.

RequirementsEducation: College Degree Preferred / High school diploma or equivalency required.
Experience: Minimum two-years of insurance sales experience or other professional services sales experience deemed appropriate. Experience working in a professional business environment is mandatory.
Sales skills: Over the phone, in person and written communication skills are critical in this role.

Computer skills: Experience with the Microsoft suite of products including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Meetings and other software products such as Zoom and Google Meets. Its also critical that you are willing to learn and adapt to new computer products and services as needs arise.

Licenses or certifications required prior to start date: The proper state insurance licenses and completion of the mandatory continuing education requirement as outlined by the applicable State Insurance Commissioner.

  • Estimated Annual Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 (base salary of $33,000 plus commission)
